Educational Support

At the heart of Teaching Amor’s mission is the belief that education is a powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty and creating lasting change.  In communities like Maneadero, access to quality education can be the difference between a life of field labor and the opportunity to pursue a future filled with possibility.

We are deeply committed to ensuring that children in these underserved communities have the resources and opportunities they need to succeed academically.  Whether it's through providing essential school supplies, repairing local school facilities, or directly sponsoring students’ education, our goal is to create an environment where every child has the chance to learn and grow.

One of the ways we foster educational growth is through our volunteer efforts.  Our team has spent many hours fixing up local schools, making structural improvements, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment, and through donations of books and supplies, we help ensure that students have access to the tools they need to excel.

Recognizing the frequent financial burden education can place on families, Teaching Amor has partnered with another non-profit, Baja Ed to connect sponsors with would-be students to provide tuition, uniforms, books, and other school supplies.  Without this support, many of these children would be forced to forgo their education and enter the workforce at a young age, often in grueling agricultural jobs.

With partnerships like Baja Ed, we share a common goal: to provide young people the chance to escape the limitations of poverty through education.  Together, we work to ensure that no child has to choose between their future and their family’s financial constraints.  Education is the key to unlocking a world of opportunity, and we are honored to play a role in making that possible for the next generation.

We should mention that our desire for educational support is not limited to the youth.  We are supportive of adult education and are planning ways to provide concrete assistance to men and women working toward literacy and career advancement at any age.  Visit the Dream & Goals section to learn more about it.

Special thanks to our dear friend and dedicated teacher, Viki, who has proven great resiliency in her own life while providing support and love to all who know her.  She has worked long hours for little pay because of the difference she felt she could make in the lives of children and adults alike.  With her professional training and life experience, she closely aligns with the mission and values of Teaching Amor.  We look forward to continuing to work closely with Viki to improve the lives of individuals and her entire community.
