Clothing Drive
Clothing is something harder to come by for some families, so we created a "store" where families in need could come and receive what they need, for free, or in return for simple service like cleaning at the school.
Renewed Classrooms
With the help of some talented volunteers, we painted and reorganized two classrooms, including new ceiling fans. A space was created for the mamas of the community to come and take weekly classes.
Days for Girls
We organized a special night at Lula's house for women, then girls, to learn all about women's health, self-esteem, boundaries, and human trafficking awareness. Megan, a certified instructor for "Days for Girls" presented.
Playground Repair/Equip
Many years old playground swings and slide where starting to falter. Our hard working and generous volunteers brought some back to life! We also brought new balls and other playground equipment for the school to enjoy.
Playtime
Making connections and building trust through play. Lisa Parker was able to bring a number of little cars for the little ones to take home.
Basketball Court
Dean & Alba had a 20 year dream of putting in a basketball court at the Yellow Castle School. We're grateful that things aligned for this to happen including some generous gifts from donors.
Water Project
Water in the area is not safe to drink. Brady organized a project to supply a clean water dispenser at the Yellow Castle school, and we educated some of the mammas how to use their new Life Straws.
Animal Clinic
A day at the school dedicated to animal health. Local vets volunteered their time to examine pets and also performed over 90 spay/neuters.
